Replacing a missing tooth.

Generally, there are three ways to replace a missing tooth:

1. A denture. This can be a relatively cheap and quick way to replace a missing tooth but it can move when you eat and speak so you may not feel confident when wearing one.
2. A bridge. This uses one or both teeth adjacent to the missing tooth. It is usually fixed in position but often requires cutting or shaping (and damaging) a healthy tooth or teeth.
3. A dental implant. This is often the best way to replace a missing tooth as the adjacent teeth don’t require shaping. A titanium root is placed in the jawbone and a new tooth is fixed firmly to this. Now you can eat and speak with confidence!
